Paua Shell
Paua is a shellfish unique to the coastal waters of New Zealand. The shell is retrieved from the sea by divers and once polished shows the beautiful opalescent blues and greens. The paua shell is then fashioned into ornaments and jewellery.
Lapis Lazuli is a rock composed chiefly of the blue silicate mineral lazulite, together with calcite and pyrite. The vivid blue is caused by sulphur and grades from deep to pale blue with some green and violet tints.
